\r\n \n Fierza Hydropower Plant <\/span>\n <\/span>\r\n <\/i><\/span>\r\n <\/h5>\r\n
Fierza is the uppermost hydropower plant (HPP) in the Drin River Cascade. Due to its installed capacity, strategic location, and reservoir volume, Fierza plays a critical role in the utilization, regulation, and safety of the entire cascade. Construction began in 1970, and the first turbine became operational in 1978. The plant reached full capacity in 1980. Fierza is classified as a first-class infrastructure project.<\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

\r\n \n Koman Hydropower Plant <\/span>\n <\/span>\r\n <\/i><\/span>\r\n <\/h5>\r\n
Koman is the second and most powerful HPP in the Drin River Cascade. With its installed capacity, strategic location, and reservoir volume, Koman is crucial for energy production and the optimal operation of the cascade. It is the largest energy producer in Albania. Construction began in 1980, the first turbine was operational in 1985, and the plant reached full capacity in 1988. Koman is classified as a first-class project due to its economic, social, and environmental significance.<\/div>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

\r\n \n Vau i Dej\u00ebs Hydropower Plant <\/span>\n <\/span>\r\n <\/i><\/span>\r\n <\/h5>\r\n
Vau i Dej\u00ebs is the first HPP built on the Drin River. Located in northwestern Albania, on the lower course of the Drin River at the Vau i Dej\u00ebs Gorge, approximately 18 km from the city of Shkodra, its construction began in 1967. The plant became operational in two phases: units 1, 2, and 3 in 1970, and units 4 and 5 in 1975.
\nVau i Dej\u00ebs HPP is a dam-and-lake type plant, with the Vau i Dej\u00ebs Lake created through the construction of four distinct dams:

\n2.\tZadeja Dam
\n3.\tRragam Dam
\n4.\tGjo\u00e7 Dam
\nVau i Dej\u00ebs is classified as a first-class project, emphasizing its critical role in energy production and regulation within the cascade.
